Name:Dovewing. Age:Twenty two moons. Gender:She-cat. Rank:Medicine Cat. Clan:Ripple Clan.
Eyes:
Dovewing eyes are two different colors. Her right eye is a pale green while the other is ice blue. Her eyes are very round and big compared to the proportion of her head. White cats with blue eyes are very susceptible to deafness and Moonwing is no exception. However, since she only has one blue eye she is only deaf in her left ear.
Pelt:
Dovewing's pelt is completely white. It still possesses the fluffy characteristic of a kits downy fur. her pelt is classified as long-haired but it is fairly short for the usual long haired cat.
Body:
Dovewing's body is very lean and carries very little muscle. Her lack of sinew was a major influence on her choice of lifestyle. She would never have been able to become a warrior with her body form so she instead chose the life of a medicine cat. Her body is also considerable small compared to cats her age. She simply seemed to stop growing during her apprentice years and has been permanently restrained in her tiny body.
Other than her odd eyes and her white pelt every other part on her body is a pinkish hue. Her small button nose is a shade darker than her pads and ears.
Personality:
Dovewing is very shy and often has a hard time communicating with cats, even her fellow clanmates. She is very insecure about her physical disadvantages and often wonders if she would have become a warrior if it weren't for them. However, she takes pride in her medicine cat duties and channels all of her energy into helping her clan.
Dovewing is a very kind cat. As an apprentice training to become a medicine cat she had troubles seeing cats in pain. Her fear of pain often hindered her healing duties as she fretted over each cat's ailments. But through experience she has learned that through the healing process every cat is bound to feel pain and it is only the small price to pay for a better outcome.
Dovewing loves the water. It's obvious that she would...she does live in Rippleclan but she naturally has an extreme fascination of it as well. While out collecting herbs she always stops by a near by stream to dip her paws in. she believes that water and her are very similar. Alone water can help cats but it is also very weak without help, such as wind, gravity and slopes.
History:
Little Featherpaw and Dovepaw were the inseperable duo. they trained together, hunted together, even shared the same scrap of moss in their den. Dovepaw felt the responsiblity to be Featherpaw's ears and help him through his training. But when her lack of physcial ability proved to be impossible for her to ever become a warrior she had to leave her brother's side. Both had to learn to be independent and solve things on their own. Despite his inablity to hear Featherpaw ended up in a warrior ceremony and earned the name Featherfoot. However, not too long afterwards he was caught in a raid by Shadeclan and his life was cut short.
His death took a terrible toll on Dovepaw and for quite a while she withdrew within herself in mourning. However, she realized that what she was doing accomplished nothing and she instead deicded that she would learn all there was to know about the healing of cats. She often connects with her warrior ancestors to speak with her brother.
Kin:Featherfoot. Mate:medicine cats aren't allowed to have mates. Offspring:Medicine cats aren't allowed to produce offspring. Mentor/Apprentice:none [yet].
Roleplayer:caustic. Roleplay Sample:
Featherkit and Dovekit raced from the nursery one lazy day. Dovekit rested her tail protectively around her kin's shoulder as they secretly exited the clan camp and ventured out into the forest surrounding their home. The nursery had gotten suffocating, mewling kits crying for their mothers while queens scrambled around desperately trying to calm all the young kits down at once. Featherkit and Dovekit were too old for that immature setting. So they had decided that they would get ready for their apprentice ceremony, which was obviously coming very soon.
"Can you believe we made it outside?" Dovekit marveled. "See? This just proves that we are ready to be apprentices...right?" Of course, Dovekit wasn't talking to her brother. Well, not exactly. Her brother is deaf and cannot physically hear her with his ears. However, their kinship is deep and powerful and Featherkit almost always understood Dovekit without the move of her mouth. She continued to ramble on about how great it was to get past the camp walls. Despite the fact that her voice carried a boastful swagger she was inwardly panicking.
The outside scared her and she wasn't sure if she was ready to face it. Her eyes would constantly shift to the black shadows of trees and unwelcoming brambles. She wasn't sure how big Ripple Clan's territory was and she was worried that her and her brother would run into another clan cat. The snap of a twig breaking was enough to fluff up the fur on her back and make her jump. "H-h-hey, Featherkit...how about we head back. I'm not sure I'm ready to leave the camp without a more knowledgable cat with us." She turned around, feeling her brother's pelt brush up against hers. She purred in delight, they were so much alike.
