Gingerstar gently swiped at paw at the apprentices, "Stop messing around and pay attention. Dewpaw face me and attack. Don't stop to think. Improvise as you go." The ginger leader stared at the apprentices with her green eyes glowing brightly. She turned and whispered to Blackwidow, "They need a little more work don't they? They are too easily distracted." She prompted her friend encouagingly. She waited for a reply from Blackwidow.
Blackwidow nodded and snapped at the apprentices, "You will never be warriors if continue acting like kits in the nursery!" The black and white cat sat on her haunches and glanced at her friend and leader who shook her head dispairingly. Blackwidow realized that had spoken a little too harshly and she hesitated. Apologizing had never been easy for her. She turned back to the apprentices and said, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound so harsh or uncaring."

Dewpaw's jaws dropped, not only that they won't be warriors as soon as he hoped, but he had never heard Blackwidow say sorry. He shook his head and charged at Gingerstar. He leaped into the air and landed square on her back.
(The last time caustic and I posted, the apprentices were waiting for their mentors to come, if you didn't know.. lol)

Gingerstar ducked and flipped onto her back. She knocked Dewpaw off and flashed a sheathed paw out and batted Dewpaw's ears, "Be quicker! Don't give your enemy time to think!" She flew forward and head-butted Dewpaw on the shoulder. She placed her paws on Dewpaw's neck with half sheathed paws, "Get up and try again." Gingerstar stepped back and waited for Dewpaw to make his move. The ginger she-cat blinked her green eyes and purred. She enjoyed training her apprentices.
OOC: But how did Dewpaw and Acepaw get past Blackwidow and Gingerstar?

Dewpaw gasped for air and got up. He noticed his speed was lacking and sped up. His tired paws clumsily hitting the ground as he sped towards Gingerstar. He knocked her paws out from beneath her and spun around, and when she was still on the ground, he leaped onto her back and let all of his weight down upon her.
OOC: Very good point.. lol

Acepaw felt her jaw unhinge in absolute disbelief as she wasonce again scolded for immature kit play. She felt her insides begin to boil with anger. This is not how her day was supposed to play out! She was supposed to prove how much she has improved and Gingerstar was supposed to be praising her not chastising her over a silly squabble with her denmate. She almost pinned her anger on Dewpaw simply because she couldn't bear the anger alone, nor the guilt. However, she stopped to think of Dewapw rather than herself and recalled the amount of trouble Dewpaw has already been through. He didn't need this on his shoulder's either. The pain Gingerstar's accusing words had inflicted had started to ebb away. Only to have the wounds opened yet again by Blackwidow's supporting phrase, "You will never be warriors if you continue acting like kits in the nursery. Acepaw involuntarily gasped and stumbled a bit as he sat down in a daze. Her mouth gaped as if she were a fish out of water; stripped of her air supply.
The amount of shock she had gone through in a few seconds intensified another thousand times to hear the apology that escaped the warrior's mouth. Admist her shock she just barely noticed the young apprentice jump on her mentor's back, starting the session of the day. She willed her body to move to become prepared for her turn. But the only thing her mind would do was repeat, "that should be you, he's training with your mentor! He'll become a warrior before you. Do you want that? To be left alone, sitting on the side as he obtains his warrior name? You need to work harder, much harder to escape your destiny of failure! But can you do it?" On the outside world she looked like a disturbed animal shaking it's head back and forth caused by some invisible force. But on the inside the world was falling to pieces, one by one and if she didn't hurry everything would be over.
The thud of a cat's body hitting the sandy floor caused her to snap out of her personal apocalypse. She had been expecting to see Dewpaw writhering under their leader's gasp however was surprised to see it the other way around. The old Acepaw began to flicker back as source of unknown enrgy began to kick in again. She jumped to her paws, "Way to go Dewpaw! Keep going at it! You'll make an amazing Warrior!" She would do that, become like him. She was sure that she could now. As long as Dewpaw was by her side she would have the confidence to become a warrior.

When Acepaw's head was turned, Blackwidow leaped. She knocked Acepaw off her paws, "Attack me, but keep your claws sheathed ok." The black and white warrior purred at the apprentice. The warrior was secretly glad that she was a mentor and had her own apprentice. She looked at her apprentice and knew that she couldn't wait to see him become a warrior. Then she had a good name for her friend and leader to give Dewpaw. She waited for Gingerstar to become free, "Gingerstar when we take a break may I talk to you?"
Gingerstar gasped as Dewpaw knocked her off her paws. The ginger she-cat purred and said, "Get off you great lump!" She stood up and shook the grass and sand from her pelt. She began grooming her ginger fur and stopped when Blackwidow requested to talk to her. "Alright, but I want to see Acepaw attack you. I want to see how her fighting techniques before I talk to you." The ginger leader looked at her friend and saw the warrior nod.

While one second Acepaw was sitting comfortably on the soft sand the next she was flailed to the ground by a surprising force. her eyes grew big from being caught of guard but a smirk played on her face. It was about time she grabbed a piece of her own action. Acepaw jumped to her paws and immediately without giving Blackwidow a chance to think jolted towards her. As Acepaw sprang into action she began to formulate a plan in her brain. Blackwidow was obviously much stronger in both the aspects of speed and strength. So in order to win she would have to use agility and strength in a more useful way. Jumping over the cat would expose her underbelly, so that wouldn't be of any use. Acepaw had no more time left to think she had already made it to Blackwidow, so using her instincts rather than her brain she shifted her weight to the right side causing her to turn with the inertia the speed had provided. With this advantage she was able to get access to Blackwidow's side rather than having to fight her head on (which would have been very difficult). Acepaw pushed off with her front paws and rammed her body into Blackwidow's side causing Blackwidow to loose balance.
